My no makeup, makeup look

When you have baby and a busy life wearing no makeup is a big no for me. I have dark dark circles and some red blemishes, that I like to keep hid from the world. Sometimes I just go in with the Becca Under Eye Brightening Corrector and call it a day or go in for minimal look. Where it only takes 5 – 10 minutes at the most. Which is what I usually aim for.

My little helpers

Grab your coffee, sit down and relax while I go through my no makeup, makeup look.

1. First thing on my list, is priming my eyelids with urban decay eyeshadow primer potion.

2. Once my eyelids are prime, time for some eyeshadow. I will be using Tarte Rainforest of the Sea. Using a fluffy brush, I’m going to pick up marina. I will be putting that color into my crease and above the crease.

3. Next eyeshadow, I will take a smaller brush and pick up seaside. I will be putting this at the outer corner and into the crease. Blend it out.

4. After eyeshadow, I will be going in to cover my dark circles. I will be using Becca Under Eye Brightening Corrector.

5. Once that done, I will be going in with my Becca First Light Priming Filter.

6. When the primer is dry, I will be using Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer to put around my eyes, nose, and dots around areas that I would like to cover up. Then I will blend that out using my blender.

7. Time to set my concealer, using BareMinerals Invisible Light.

8. Now time for bronzer and blush. For bronzer, I will be using Quo Sunny Days. For blush, I will be using Physicians Formula, Butter Blush, colour: plum rose.

9. Once that done, time for setting spray. I will be using Marc Jacobs Coconut Setting Mist.

10. Now for quick mascara and lipstick. For mascara, I will be using, L’oreal Lash Paradise. Lipstick, NYX Lingerie, colour Lipli 03.

And that basically it. It’s quick and looks natural. Here the finish look

That it’s for now, talk to you later.

Why you should be cleaning your makeup brushes

Today I will be talking about why you should be cleaning your makeup brushes. I will admit that I don’t clean them every time I use them, Ain’t nobody got time for that.

But, I do clean them when I go grab a clean brush, and go opps, I don’t have anymore cleaned brushes, I probably should clean them lol. Usually my 7 month old daughter is helping me, she sits on her chair, watching me, while we sing a song.

Why clean your makeup brushes?

It’s important to clean your makeup brushes for a couple of reasons:

  1. Bacteria. Number 1 reason and very important reason why you should be cleaning your brushes. Bacteria grows on the used brush due to the perfect environment it provides. Think about it, dirty, dust, oil from your skin, and the moist, warm environment your brushes provides. It’s heaven for those bacteria.
  2. Breakouts and skin irritation. Well of course you will get breakout and skin irritation from dirty brushes, look what on them, bacteria, dirt and dead skin cell. Swiping that on your face will overload your skin with microbes, causing acne and red rashes.
  3. Clogged pores. You must of saw that coming. Dirty brushes cause breakout, and skin irritation, so it definitely will clog up your pores.
  4. Muddy makeup look. In case you didn’t know but dirty brushes will affect the performance of your application. It’s already struggle trying to blend everything out nicely without trying to make your makeup streaky or uneven.
  5. longevity of the brushes. Makeup brushes are investment. When you don’t take care of your tools you end up throwing money down the drain. Get your money worth by cleaning and taking care of your makeup brushes.

Here me, cleaning my brushes. I use the Quo solid brush cleanser and heart shape brushes cleaner that I brought from Wish.

Well that all for now, talk to you later

You deserve a little me time

If you are a mom like me, finding that balance between taking care of the household, kids, pets and husband, that you always forget to take care of the most important person, you. Now you are probably saying, no, the most important person is my kids. Which I do understand but you are still important. Especially to your family.

Which brings me to my next point, you need a break. An hr break, where you do you. It can be before your kids get up in the morning. Example: have coffee, get ready, joy getting your makeup on and don’t have to rush. It can be when your kids are asleep. Example: soaking in a bathtub with a glass of wine or beer.

I know what you are saying, I don’t have time, my schedule is too busy or I’m too tired but trust me you can and will find that time. You need that time because your body and mind needs it. You need to take an hr to unwind and do something for you to relax from the busy day you had. Believe me, you will thank me and your husband and kids will be happy that you took time to take care of you.

You are probably wondering why is it so important?

It’s so important because all that stress builds up in your body, causing tension in your body and your brain is going a mile a minute. Which will make it harder to fall asleep.

When you do something you love and make you feel relaxed and let go. All that stress from the day, leaves your body making your body relax and your mind happy. A happy mommy, makes everyone happy. It’s makes you feel like you can conquer the world and you will have a better sleep.

Moms definitely deserve a me break because it hard raising kids, plus everything else.

Well that all for now.

My arch nemesis … Acne

Yesterday I woke up to my face all broke out, those ugly red pimples were staring back at me and all I wanted to do was run away, cry, and hide away from the world while I pray to the beauty gods why did they forsaking me. Just kidding, I didn’t do any of those but I did thought of it.

I usually have a clear face and when I get a break out I can pinpoint why those beautiful red pimples appear. The cause of my breakout the other day was due to my sponge which I knew was getting old.

How did I knew it was my beauty blender?

My beauty blender was getting old and I knew I had to toss it but I didn’t want to just yet, wanted to make sure I get my full use out of it. When I used it the other day I knew I was going to have a breakout due to a feeling, a tingle at the spot where I got my acne. Sure enough, when I took my makeup off there was the blemish staring back at me. I was hoping I could have prevent the break out before they appear but of course no such luck.

Here my routine on how I deal with my acne. Now what I use for routine on how to deal with acne might not work you or your skin. But I did try a lot and I mean a lot of routines on how to deal with breakout.

  1. I found take a warm shower to open up those pores helps greatly. I use my face cleanser, Clinique facial soap. 20171007_2117251752100669.jpg
  2. Once the soap is washed off, I then go in with St. Ives apricot scrub. 20171007_211656722366359.jpg
  3. Once I finished my shower routine and wash off the St. Ives, I then turn the shower water cold. So I can close my pores back up so I make sure I don’t get any more breakouts.  Believe me opening your pores up and then closing it will help greatly on combating acne. I used to have back acne and I fight it for a very long time and couldn’t make sense on why I keep getting them. Well I was able to figure it out, it was do to the warm water and my hair conditioner. The soup of my hair conditioner was getting trap into my back pores and staying there. Once I figured that out I changed my routine quickly. Bam, all my back acne was gone.
  4. Once I’m out of the shower and dry, I then go in with Clinique clarifying lotion. I only use this once a day but when I have acne I was this twice a day.  20171007_185444377900425.jpg
  5. The last finally step, Moisturizer. I can’t tell how important it is to moisture your skin. It one of the most important thing you can do for your skin, plus drinking water. I go in with Clinique Moisture Surge and wait for that dry and then go in with Clinique Dramatically different moisturizing lotion

Well that how I deal when I get a breakout. I would like to hear your story on how you deal with acne.

Till next time, my friends
